Happy New Year to all of you ^^*

Friday, January 26, 2018

I made this card for a special friend of mine, we've never met each other so far, but we share so many interests: crafts, calligraphy, painting, etc. She's such a talented and brave girl. And I will definitely go to her city one day to meet her!!! Hope this card could warm her heart when she receive it.

I especially love the butterfly stamp for the background, from Tim Holtz, one of my most favourite stamp sets in all my collection, seriously, you can easily make a vintage unique background with them!

Merry Christmas to You All!

Saturday, December 09, 2017

Ahh! It's been a while that I didn't make any card! Because I've been practicing calligraphy these days ^^*! Similar to crafting, you need a good sense to do it, but all the rest relying on practice, practice and practice...! And it really makes sense as you can see change and progress everyday. The followings are something that I wrote recently. AND! See the star tag on this new decoration on table (yeah, it's not a card ^^), I wrote the tag Merry and Bright with Finetec Arabic Gold, which is one of my most favourite colors.

Okay now! Let's see the new table decoration I made as a Christmas gift for my best friend.

I am comfort with Copic coloring, but using distress inks to color is really a challenge for me. However, I like distress ink's effect so much that I have to step out my comfort zone, and I think I made a little progress than last time. ^^*

I painted my own green watercolor paper to die cut those pine needles. I made two color sets and finally decided to use the darker green.

I have to say, mulberry handmade paper flowers are my most favourite ones for crafting, and they never disappointed me.

Finally, I decorated it with a real tiny pine that I picked up along the riverside, and added some red crystals.  I brushed the white gesso to all the edges and flowers, and then painted the edges with the finetec gold watercolor left over from writing the star tag.

This table decoration is actually meant to be a photo frame with iner height that can be hang on the wall, or put on the table, but I haven't decided how to decorate the frame, so let's wait and see how it would turn out. And I will add a new post if it's done later.

Tilda With Flowing Hair - Summertime

Friday, August 25, 2017

Today I would like to share a card with the theme of "All About Summer" and this is also an AAM Challenge #25 I'm taking in. Summer is ending, and I have to say, this is really a HooooooooT summer here in Shanghai this year! I should even mark the year in my journal!

LOL, back to today's card. I used Tilda with flowing hair as the main image of this card, and also chose the Butterfly kit from the Once Upon a Time series. But at the beginning, I'm not so sure whether to use them or not, so I just colored 1 big and 2 small butterflies, and decide later once I finished the card.

I'm so excited today because this is the very first time I used coffee filter paper to handmade these 3 flowers, and I was really satisfied with the final result. In the meantime, I've gain some experiences during the making process, and each flower I made later was better than the previous ones. (The order I made the flowers was: big red pink --- Purple ---Light Pink) And I used Distress Stain to color the filter papers.

And finally, I found out I don't have a stamp with Summer theme, which is not quite a disaster for me right now, cos I can try my calligraphy!

Okay, that's pretty much about today's card, really enjoyed making it, especially after sticking the 3 butterflies I colored earlier, then I coated them with Glossy Accents to get a shinny look.

Thanks for stooping by and hope you all have a great weekend!

Happy Crafting!
